ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY…?
Ready to finish inking the last two panels of my March 10th comic yet two kids yelling and banging around are not helping. Wife is in a mood which is never good. I am restless. I’m really feeling the urge to jump on my next “big” project, even tho’ it may end up being a painful journey emotionally.
Finished reading Retrofit Comics “Gray is Not a Color” by Sally Madden, and I was moved by it and laughed at it and everything. It was really wonderful, the type of comic I would one day hope to create. I cannot recommend it enough. I have enjoyed all the Retrofit Books I have read thus far.
I have been happy to see a lot of folks that i first met on Livejournal move on to successful cartooning careers, I’ve always been a huge cheerleader for people like Box Brown, Lucy Knisley and the amazing Kate Beaton from day one of seeing their work. Me, I’m moseying along.
If y’all are smart, here’s a GREAT read recently in comics:

So yeah, I’ve come fumbling back into Tumbl’ing land. Added a few of the folks I love to follow on other platforms and hopefully will be adding a few more.
Got a car repair coming up on Monday, hopefully just a wheel bearing replacement. I don’t think I could handle let alone afford much else. I’ve been bad to my Mom’s old car. It deserves better. Almost had a sleepless night over it but nothing a sleeping pill and a Lorazepam couldn’t fix.
On the drawing front, my work on weekly comics continues. Inked more of March 10th’s comic today and will have it finished likely sometime this weekend. I’ve already got one in mind for March 17th too, thanks to some people watching I did tonight.
Anyway, just a text post for now. Let this old goat feel his way around. With any luck I’ll be cross posting the fuck outta my comics in the next while on her and my beloved Livejournal.
Dinner at thew inlaws was not as painful as I thought.Father in law made a lasagna a little too heavy on sauce cheese and meat. I barely ate a piece and a half.Xander kinda made a scene when he started pouting about not getting enough presents(ridiculous, but he’s eight, right?), but other than that it was a nice time. Weather was dicey coming home with wet wet snow on the roads and making driving a pain in the ass but we got home safe and sound.
Tomorrow it’s back to work for three days, double time money baby!!And it’s usually not too busy, so we’ll see.The morning will be spent packing up a couple of stock orders I picked last week.
Will we see some comic action on this blog?Perhaps soon my friends.Perhaps soon.
So another holiday down the pooper. We’re now in the nebulous week that leads up to New Year’s. Tomorrow I get to go to my inlaws for some more Xmas.Since my father in law has apparently turned into a Glenn Beck loving fool and believes world collapse to be around the corner,I’m bringing plenty of reading/drawing entertainment.Kris wants no battles.
Glad the day itself is over. We had a very non-traditional dinner of barbecued steak, some salad and corn on the cob.It was, I believe, something we needed to do.We always had the traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings with my Mom, and I really wanted to stay away from that.Tomorrow we avoid more of tradition. We’re having a lasagna.
So I’m gonna spend the next couple of days reconnecting with most of you lost in the Livejournal purge. We’ll chat soon.
Yes, yes, after much bitchin’ and hollerin’, I’ve opened up one of these here Tumblr things. There’s a good chance it’ll replace LJ if I like it a lot, course it’s not like I’m posting much there, either. I often put my pithy comments on The Twitter (another site I said I’d never sign on to…), but I’m sure once shit gets all settled down like,me and the Tumblr will become good pallies and all.
Let’s hope I can get a bunch of youse to follow me here!!
